The Red Stag is one of the most majestic animals in the world. It was introduced into New Zealand over 150 years ago and some of the best Red Stag are available on the property. These Red Stag range from 300 class through some of the top SCI record book ratings.
The Red Stag is known for its impressive roar. The roar can be given to signify size and stature, initiate a challenge, or to emphasize the winning of a fight. They can give a brief bark as a warning to lesser stags that pose no real threat. Generally outside the rut they remain silent with the exception of an occasional warning bark.
The season for the Red Stag runs from March through the end of August, with the prime time being from March through the end of May.
