Wild pigs are hunted on half a million acres in the remote North Queensland Gulf country. This area contains literary thousands of wild pig as well as dingoes, salt and fresh water crocodiles and amazing bird life. This area is a privately owned working cattle station and borders on two major rivers, the Mitchell and the Alice Rivers.
Vehicles are used for transportation then the boars are spotted and stalked. The pig hunting area is mostly flat with plenty of water holes, paper bark swamps and billabongs. Wild boars can be found feeding early morning and late afternoon. They can also be found near water through the middle of the day.
Hunting for the wild boars is mostly done during the dry season with July and August being the prime months due to drying vegetation and dwindling water holes.
